During Hurricane Isaac, 2012, the Plaquemine Parish levee was sacrificed. 7 years earlier, during Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, flooding caused a huge loss of lives only to have oil spilled in the Gulf waters 5 years later. It has been 2 years since the 2010 BP disaster ocurred that made life along the Gulf practically uninhabitable. When the waters settle, where will the oil and chemical dispersing compounds settle? If nothing is uttered about it, does that mean there is no danger? In all the reports leading up to and after Hurricane Issac, I didn’t hear anything mentioned about the oil and residue that remains. There is nothing mysterious about toxins and the way it affects life. I just wondered why there was no mention about testing the water before or immediately following the levee break.
